Brenda grew up in a military family and was a true American Patriot. This fact was exemplified by her many volunteerism endeavors, including donating her time to such worthy causes as, "Thanks A LOT Socks" and the "Purple Bag project", which help United States veterans. Brenda was also heavily involved in her local Alden American Legion working such fundraisers as the, "murder mystery" play, "Scarfs for Troops" as well as the annual golf and bowling tournaments. Brenda volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for numerous years, teaching her daughters, as well as her granddaughters how to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate, caring, courageous and strong. There were many projects her Troop was involved in, such as "Thanks A LOT Troops", assembling care packages to be shipped to our veterans overseas. They also collected activity bags to be donated to the local Children's Hospital. Brenda was also passionate about helping animals, donating to several charities such as the SPCA, the Ten Lives Club, Hope for Cats and HEART animal rescue. An avid traveler, Brenda's journey took her to various locations including Europe and multiple trips to Disney World. Most importantly, more than any of these worthwhile causes, Brenda truly enjoyed spending time with family and her daily visits with friends. She had a unique bond with each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will forever be missed!
