Caroline W.
Clark
Nov 5, 1929 — Feb 12, 2022
Born in 1929 to Carl and Caroline Willard, Caroline (Carol) Maria Willard was raised in
Townsend, MA and then attended Skidmore College where she received her Registered
Nursing degree. While in her nursing training, she met Ronald Clark in Ithaca, NY and they
were married in 1951 after she graduated. They moved to Buffalo, NY, then to Cheektowaga,
NY, and finally to Elma, NY in 1956 where she has lived since.
Carol worked as a public health nurse for the Visiting Nurse Association in Buffalo until her
children were born when she became a full-time homemaker devoted to her husband and
children. When the children were older she returned to nursing as a substitute school nurse
and then as a school nurse teacher in the Alden, NY school system. After retiring from there
she continued to use her nursing training by assisting during Red Cross blood drives and
helping out at Camp Cherith.
Carol always made the best of things and was always up to the challenge. During family
camping vacations, she somehow managed four children in a small tent, feeding everyone
from a tiny two-burner stove. She attended numerous cross country and track meets and
baseball and softball games as well as all the band and orchestra concerts her children
participated in as well as those of her grandchildren.
After losing her husband too early, Carol traveled in the US and Europe with friends while
maintaining her cabin in the Wyoming County woods. She was a willing worker at the Aldinger
Farms and spent much time with her grandchildren. Carol was also a skilled seamstress and
avid quilter; many of her quilts grace her children's homes today.
Carol was a believer and follower of Jesus. She taught children's Sunday School for decades at
the First Baptist Church of Elma, and served in volunteer positions for many years. Her faith in
the salvation through Christ gave her assurance and peace to meet her Savior.
Carol was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband of 33 years Ronald, and her sister Marian
Patterson. She is survived by her children David (Jane), William (Lisa), Richard (Sue), and Cathy
(Wayne) Aldinger, her grandchildren Dan Clark, Sarah (Killian) Johnson, Jesse Clark, Todd (Tiffany) Clark, Cari (Steve) Doyle, Scott Aldinger, Kelly Aldinger, Carl Aldinger and her great-grandchildren Callum, Levity, Taylor, MollyWren and one on the way.
She will be missed, but we rest in knowing she is with her Lord. No prior visitation. A Memorial Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Elma, 1301 Bowen Rd., Elma, NY on Saturday, February 19th at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sonraysministries.com or the First Baptist Church of Elma. Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
