Obituary

Barrowclough-Weber-Crescentia (nee Hausberger) "Oma" born December 7, 1926 in Witzling, Germany and passed away June 2, 2022 in South Royalton, VT.  Beloved wife of the late Frank Weber and Henry Barrowclough; dear mother of Maria (Frank) Lamson, of South Royalton, VT. Fran (Don) Stoffel of Alden, NY, Frank (Sue) Weber of Bennington, NY, Heidi (Chris) Hatfield of Sarasota, Fl, and John (Kelly) Weber of Buffalo, NY;  also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; daughter of the late Georg and Maria (Suess) Hausberger; sister of Maria Reiter of Velden, Germany, George Hausberger of West Seneca, NY and the late Hermann (Hanne) Hausberger, Johann (Cenzi) Bapist and Sepp (Lisbeth) Hausberger.

Centa shared many rich stories of her early childhood on the family farm in Bavaria, until the advent of World War II, which brought many deprivations and hardships.  She came to Buffalo, NY in 1948, hoping for a better life.  Centa met her husband Frank Weber at the Spring Garden German Park in East Aurora, NY.  They were married in 1950 and raised their children in Alden, NY, always welcoming their large, extended family for work and play on the farm.  Centa and Frank built their dream home on Twin Pines in 1968 and enjoyed their beautiful garden, forest, and creek until Frank's untimely death in 1976.  After 13 years alone, raising her youngest son, working at St. John the Baptist Rectory, and acquiring her Real Estate License, our mother married Henry Barrowclough and spent the next 3 decades in retirement between Sarasota, Fl and Limerick, ME.  Upon Henry's death in 2016, our mother shared a home with each of her children for a while, taking pride in their accomplishments, then finally settling down in Vermont.  Centa made new friends wherever she went, and enjoyed frequent visits from her devoted family members.  Centa visited her family in Germany often, most recently for her sister's 90th birthday celebration in 2019, and was delighted when they came to visit her in the USA.  Special joys were playing Scrabble (and winning!), reading good books (in German & English!), following the Wall Street Journal stock reports, knitting for her family (and new babies in town), and storytelling-recounting the experiences of her long life, filled with love and gratitude.

Family will be present at the Charles Meyer Funeral Home, 13228 Broadway Alden, NY on Saturday, June 18th from 1-4 PM.  Private graveside services will be held.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
