Kogut-Ethel M. (nee Fries) of Alden, NY transitioned from this earth to Heaven on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 91.  Her husband predeceased her on Sept. 14, 2001.  They were married for 55 years.  She is the loving mother of Peter Kogut, Linda (Paul Giacco) Kogut and Rose (Mitch) Georgianna; dear grandmother of Peter Georgianna, Mike Giacco and Sarah Georgianna; sister of Lois (late Robert) Keller and the late Edward (late Lois) Fries and Olive Raupp.  Funeral Services will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4809 S. Newstead Rd. Akron, NY Saturday at 1 PM.  Family will be present at the Charles Meyer Funeral Home 13228 Broadway Alden, NY Friday 6-8 PM and Saturday 10-12 noon.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Crittenden Fire Dept.  Ethel was always very involved in her church community.  Her powerful Christian faith was always her guiding light.  Mom and dad raised herefords and gardened for many years.  Ethel's family would like to extend their personal, sincere gratitude to Brothers of Mercy, Clarence, NY, Touching Hearts, Helping Hands, Meals on Wheels and the Crittenden Fire Dept.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
