Landahl-Franklin C. "Sonny" of Alden, NY November 5, 2020.  Beloved father of Steven (Wendy) Landahl, Jarrod (Pam) Landahl and Lisa (Nicole) Landano; loving grandfather of Lauryn, Emma, Samantha, Grace, Xander, Cody, Ellison and Angelo; former husband of Sally Schuh; brother of Tom Landahl, Cory (Richard) Dussault and the late Robert Landahl; son of the late Franklin A. and Betty Landahl;  nephew of Charlotte Carnes; also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Family will be present at the Charles Meyer Funeral Home, 13228 Broadway Alden, NY Monday 1-4 and 6-8pm.  Please be mindful that face coverings and social distancing is required.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In loving memory of a one-of-a-kind man whom many lovingly referred to as the unofficial mayor of Alden, Sonny Landahl.  Sonny was a proud Aldenite who easily made friends wherever he went.  He coached AJF Little League Football, never missed a wrestling tournament, manned the clock at high school games and was famous for his "no-look-hook" on the basketball courts.  His family, children and grandchildren were the absolute light of his life.  If you ran into him uptown, chances are you've seen pictures and videos of us in his cell phone.  He also loved the families of this town.  Watching our kids grow up and raise families of their own was everything to him.  We will forever miss our dad, but know he is in heaven dancing with Elvis, sharing a LaPaloma's pizza with Ralph Wilson and cheering on the Mets.  To know Sonny was to love him.  And we sure did.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
