Obituary

Pendolino-Helen Age 98, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her home.  Wife, true love and best friend of the late Joseph Pendolino, Jr.  Daughter of the late Ella and Paul Carlo, sister of Irene Gutowski, and predeceased by sister Marge Vona and brother Richard Carlo.  Loving mother of Joseph, Lisa (Bill) Brunner, and James.  Cherished grandmother of William (Suzanne) Brunner, Holly Brunner, Daniel (Nicole) Brunner, Erich (Nikci) Brunner and Kiersten (Anthony) Sarcinelli.  Great grandmother to KJ, Lemon, Felicity, Slater and Laramie.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Helen had been blessed with numerous close friends and her aides, Jennifer, Boksun, Barb and Joette, were wonderful and provided not only outstanding care, but also brought so much humor and laughter to her.  She enjoyed them so much. Helen would engage all she met in conversation and she was welcoming and inclusive of all.  As a former music teacher, Helen immensely enjoyed music and attended concerts even at age 98.  She was a season subscriber for over 35 years to Shea's, had a subscription to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and enjoyed summer concerts at many local outdoor venues.  In addition to teaching, Helen and Joe had a music store (Penn Music) and with Lisa, a bridal supply business (H&L Supplies).  A long time active member of the St. Gregory the Great senior organization, Helen arranged the group's bus trips and other outings.  She also was a member of the St. Greg's Bell Choir.  Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital benefited from Helen's volunteer work. Her outgoing personality, sincerity, quick wit and compassion for all has been appreciated and she will truly be missed.  Helen donated her remains to the UB Medical School.  She felt if that could help the medical students learn and possibly contribute to research, it was important to her to be a part of it.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to Shea's Performing Arts Center in Helen's name would be greatly appreciated.  No prior visitation.  Please join the family for a celebration of Helen's life and legacy on March 8, 2025 at 11:00AM to be held at The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, 4375 Harris Hill Rd. (the corner of Harris Hill Rd. and Main St.), Williamsville, NY 14221.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
