Obituary

Kipfer-Joseph N. of Alden, NY passed away August 29, 2022 at the age of 90.  Beloved husband of 57 years to Josephine (Stutzman) and 13 years to the late Wilma (Shrock) Kipfer; dear father of Dallas (Peggy), Darwin (Fan Marie), Kevin (Denise) and the late Denise and Nancy Jo Kipfer; also survived by 10 grandchildren: Justin (Chris), Nick, Malinda (Roland) Martin, Jon (Allison), Veronica, Emmalene, Andrew, Trey, Jonas and Katherine, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; predeased by one great-grandson Kemuel Jairus Joseph Martin; brother of the late Nelson (late Anna Lee) Kipfer, the late Laurane (late Allen) Erb, the late Reta (late Walter) Schmidt, the late Amos Jr (late Dorothy) Kipfer, the late Melvin (survived by wife Glenda) Kipfer, the late Rebecca (late John) Bontrager and the late Aurelia (survived by husband Calvin and second wife Marlene) Beachy.  Born to Amos and Rebecca Kipfer at their family farm on Two Rod Rd. on December 8, 1931, he then built a home on Two Rod Rd. where he raised his family.  Joe was a draftsman and owner of Joseph Kipfer Contractor and Builder in Alden, NY.  He was a member of the Alden Mennonite Church, the Alden Historical Society, a charter member of Beaver Camp in Lowville, NY and was a representative for Mennonite Disaster Service.  Joe was a pilot and enjoyed model airplanes and trains.  He also enjoyed boating, traveling, fixing up antique cars, tinkering with small engines, woodworking, yard work and working on his Mustangs.  His steadfast faith in Jesus Christ kept him strong through many joys and sorrows.  He loved to encourage others in their faith.  He was a mentor and friend to many and loved by all!  Family will be present to receive friends at the Alden Mennonite Church, 923 Two Rod Rd. Alden, NY on Tuesday, September 6 th from 1-3 and 6-8 PM., where funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7 th at 10:30 AM.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beaver Camp in Lowville, NY at www.beavercamp.org or by calling 315-376-2640.   Arrangements by the Charles Meyer Funeral Home.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
