Gortzig-Mark P. "Zig" of Amherst, NY passed away unexpectedly January 7, 2024.  Loving husband of Patricia (nee Roman) Gortzig, father of Mary Gortzig; step-father of Cheryl Ann (Walter) Staniszewski, Tina (Kevin) Webster, Joelle (Mark) Staniszewski; grandfather of Hailie, Caiden, Kyle, Ryan, Isaiah, Gavin and Amaya-Rose; son of the late Adolph and Joan Gortzig; brother of Matthew (late Lisa), Christopher (Mary), Paul (Christine), Helene (Michael) McGarvey and Eric Gortzig; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Visitation Friday, January 12th 4-8 PM at the PACER FUNERAL HOME, INC 2275 George Urban Blvd., Depew (2 blocks east of Dick Rd) where a service will take place Saturday at 11:30 AM.  Mark retired from the Amherst  Highway Dept. as General Foreman after 42 years.  He was a member of the Shelridge Country Club and a season ticket holder of the Bills and Sabres.  Mark "Big Dog" will be missed by family and many friends.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Roswell Park Head and Neck Dept.  Please share condolences at www.PACERFUNERALHOME.com
