Carey-Paul J. of Alden, NY passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. Beloved husband of 50 years to Elizabeth (nee Talbot) Carey. He was predeceased by his first wife Joan Margaret "Peggy" (nee Sobczak) Carey; dear father of Patricia (Tom Hogan) Carey, Daniel Carey, Elizabeth Ann (Thomson) Scarlett and the late Thomas (Jacqueline) Carey and infant daughter Margaret Ann "Maggie" Carey; loving grandfather of Alexandra, Samantha, Grace, Jackson and Veronica; son of the late Thomas and Margaret Carey; brother of Maryann (Thomas) Emerling, Robert (Joyce) Carey and Rose (John) Orluk; brother-in-law of Kathleen "Kitty" (late Kenneth) Dillen, Marianne (Joseph) Willig, Nancy (late George) Dannecker and the late Margaret (late James) Klinger, Robert (Judith) Talbot and Helen Talbot; lifelong friend of Jim Joseph and Pat (Carol Ann) Healy; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Family will be present at the CHARLES MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 13228 Broadway Alden, NY on Monday, September 28th from 3-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1 St. Marys Hill, Lancaster on Tuesday, September 29th at 10 AM (please assemble at church). Paul was a supervisor at Republic Steel for 18 years. He then worked as a Senior Field Inspector/Industrial Hygienist/Consultant for NYS PESH. He loved to write limericks, fish and was an avid woodworker. Paul loved to spin an Irish tale. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era.
