Gerstner-Ronald F. of Bennington, NY passed away July 25, 2023.  Beloved husband of Sandi (nee Rauch) Gerstner; dear father of Jeanne (Gregory) Zakrzewski, Paula (Paul) Kozlowski and Joanne Gerstner; loving grandfather of Sarah (Bryan) Warren, Melissa (Spencer) Smith, Lillianne, Adam and Eryn Kozlowski; great-grandfather of Elliott and Ruth Warren; brother of Joyce Stanley.  No services will be held.

Ron's life was shaped by his craftsmanship in cars and metal, starting at age 15. In 1959, he opened "Gerstner Restyling" which was later named "Gerstner's Collision Service." That same year, he built the 1934 altered "Flip-Top." This car became a nationally acclaimed show car. He gained a reputation for custom bodywork and pristine paint in the car world. He was sought after by Hurst, Stewart-Warner, and Ford. Ron built two prototypes for GM. In 1968, he built the "Stiletto" from the ground up, again increasing his national acclaim. Locally, he was known for his black 1957 Chevy and 1966 Thunderbird.There were many other custom cars that have won him a plethora of awards. Ron retired in 2018.
