Ward-Ruth D. (nee Groves) of Alden, NY passed away May 19, 2023 at the age of 99.  Beloved wife of John "Jack" Ward; dear mother of David (Helena) Ward and the late Judith Ward; grandmother of Darrell (Christine) Ward, Heather (late Gregory) Starzynski and Holly (Dale) Earsing; great-grandmother of Steven (Allison Beck) Ward, Kate (Kevin) Horlein, Edward (Vivica Wells) Earsing, Kennedy (Parker Ribbick), Samantha (Nevin) Wachowiak, Taylor Starzynski and Joshua Starzynski; great-great grandmother of Addy and Macy Wachowiak and Bradon Ward; sister of the late Treva (late Warren) Harding and the late Richard (late Nancy) Groves.  Ruth was a member of and past Matron of Alden Chapter OES and New Horizons OES of Amherst.  Past Grand Representative to Michigan Grand Chapter OES.   She was a member of the Alden Presbyterian Church and served as Elder and Deacon.  She taught Sunday school  and sang in the choir for 74 years.  No prior visitation.  A memorial service will be held at the Alden Presbyterian Church Alden, NY Saturday, June 3rd. at 11 AM.  Flowers gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made to the Alden Presbyterian Church or the Alden Fire Dept.  Arrangements by the Charles Meyer Funeral Home.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
