Theodore "Ted" Kyre, Sr., born June 22, 1933, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 31, 2025, at his home in Alden, New York. A lifelong resident and multigenerational farmer, Ted devoted his life to hard work, family, and the community he cherished.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, his brother, Martin, his son, Jim (survived by his wife, Judy), and his grandson, Garry Pitz Jr. Ted retired as Chief Engineer from the Erie County Home and Infirmary after 30 years of dedicated service and also proudly drove a school bus for Alden Central School for 54 years, safely transporting generations of children to school. He enjoyed the fellowship and activities at the Akron, Newstead, and Clarence Senior Centers, took great pleasure in his many hobbies, and loved traveling to new places whenever he could.

He is survived by his children, Jenny (Dan) Andruczyk, Kenny (Marge) Kyre, TJ (Sharon) Kyre, and Cheryl Pitz; his eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy. Ted will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family will be present be present to receive friends at the CHARLES MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 13228 Broadway Alden, NY Tuesday from 2-6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's RC Church Alden, NY Wednesday at 11 AM (please assemble at church).  Flowers gratefully declined.
