Thomas J.Lipa, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025.

Tom was a man who found God most clearly in the beauty of the world he created. The great outdoors was not just a hobby for him.  It is where his soul felt most at home and provided true life.

Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time and working in his garden, which was his prized possession. Nature was where he connected with God, family, friends and himself.

Tom was a passionate New York Yankee and Buffalo Bills fan.  He enjoyed watching, attending games and having discussions with his family about them.

Tom and Helen were devout foster parents providing for the care of 27 children over 21 years.  It was his mission to teach them the same values and beliefs he provided to his own children and grandchildren.

As a faithful Catholic, he lived his life guided by prayer and strong values. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to God.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen (nee Jimerson) Lipa. Dear father of Thomas (Deanna) Lipa, Derrin (Kim) Lipa, Maria (Frank) DiMartino, Dawn (Scott Butts) Schmiedicker and Gregory Donovan-Lipa; loving grandfather of Corey, Jenna, Jason (Andrea), Ryan, Taylor (Noah), Bear, Nick, Brandi (Sean) and Mackenzie (Stuart); great-grandfather of Gavin, Dylan, Aria, Louie and Payton; son of the late Edward and Virginia Lipa; brother of John Lipa, Evelyn Wronecki and Paul Lipa.  No prior visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's RC Church Alden, NY on Thursday, January 8th at 11 AM.  Arrangements by the CHARLES MEYER FUNERAL HOME.  Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com
